Humber Street Sesh 2015 – 01-08-15
As Hull warms up for the summer so does the talent as everyone’s
favourite local festival returns, bolder than ever.
Just like the talent the sun is bursting through the clouds, shinning a
light to guide new and exciting talent out of the streets of Hull and descend
upon Humber docks. Along with the arts there is always something for all the
family. It is also what sets this apart from other festivals as Humber Street
Sesh demonstrates a growing city with a community spirit. Whether it be
creating your own fashion wardrobe with Chinese Laundry or sampling some
delicious local cuisine from Pie, there is something for all tastes.
The festival could seem to be music focused but it is more than that, it
engages with the local scene, helping and inspiring more people to explore
their creative side. This goes to show with the music. Along with the know
bands on the local scene there are some hopeful new bands, The No Nothings,
Ysabelle Wombwell and Fire (The Unstoppable Force), all shone at Humber Street Sesh,
however, the later should really change their name. All the music acts we
enjoyed today as they all show the many faces and talents of Yorkshire.
So the T-shirts are correct Hull really isn’t shit any more. If you
haven’t already experienced Hull then come on in! As Humber Street Sesh shows,
you should visit a classic city that is thriving and posed on greatness as we
approach the City of Culture 2017.
